Welcomed Garden Additions

Posted in: Birds, Garden

By this time you should have your gardens cut out, edged and cultivated. Your seeds should soon begin to sprout into little baby seedlings. Now is the perfect time to think about a few additions to start attracting your wild garden birds.

No flower garden would be complete without the sweet songs of wild birds. There are a few things you can do to ensure the arrival and the nesting of wild birds in your yard.

Firstly you will want to ensure your little feathered friends have plenty of food to eat. Always keep your bird feeders full of seed. If you are looking to attract a variety of birds you will want to offer some sunflower seeds, niger seeds and some sweet suet. If you are a fan of the hummingbird as I am you will want to be sure to have a few hummingbird feeders as well.

Often over looked is the fact that birds just as humans need plenty of water. Bird baths that are kept clean and full of fresh water will be most appreciated by your feathered visitors.
